January 08 According to the latest news from the famous reporter Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph
Tottenham are scouting Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as they prepare to sign a long-term successor to Lloris Lloris in the summer, according to reports.
Lloris, who celebrated his 36th birthday on Boxing Day, signed a two-year contract extension with Tottenham last year until 2024.
While the goalkeeper is not on Tottenham’s target list for January, the club are looking to sign a new right-back and an attacking player, with the goalkeeper a position that is expected to be addressed at the end of the season.
Spurs and manager Antonio Conte are happy with Lloris, but admit a succession plan is needed for the Frenchman.
Fraser Foster, who started the FA Cup third-round win over Portsmouth, was signed as Lloris’ second goal in the summer but will celebrate his 35th birthday in March.
Everton’s Pickford is another goalkeeper Spurs could consider, with the England international currently out of contract in 2024.
Judging from the current situation, Raya has only one year left on his contract with Brentford after the end of the season. He is likely to attract the interest of more clubs than just Tottenham.
