January 30 News According to the latest report by the famous reporter Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph,
Chelsea have now offered Benfica just over £105m for Enzo.
Joint owner Bedard Egbaly and global director of talent and transfers Paul Winstanley are set to close the deal.
Chelsea’s offer fits the numbers in Enzo’s buyout clause, but Chelsea have so far proposed a large down payment and five subsequent installments.
That leaves some room for negotiation, but Chelsea are optimistic that the hefty offer, and Enzo’s desire to move to Stamford Bridge, will eventually convince Benfica president Rui Costa to sell.
Signing Enzo would not only surpass Chelsea’s transfer record but also the £100m Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish, which set a new British record.
In addition, the Telegraph also revealed that the tension between the two clubs is said to have eased, and Enzo is patiently waiting to see if Chelsea can successfully sign him.
