January 22 According to BBC news, the match between Southampton and Villa was suspended due to a drone flying
Timeout over the entry field.
Southampton faced Aston Villa at St. Mary’s Stadium in this round. In the second half of the game, the referee Salisbury noticed a drone hovering over the pitch and he suspended the game.
After 10 minutes, the players of both sides came on the field after the police lifted all the restrictions and continued the match. The match between the two teams had gone on for 65 minutes and the score was still tied at 0-0.
A similar incident occurred in Brentford’s game against Wolves last season, when the game was also suspended.
