May 23, 27-year-old Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy denied nine charges against him about six women, including
7 counts of rape.
Dressed in a dark suit and tie, the Frenchman, who lives in Prestbury, Cheshire, stood and replied “I am not guilty” as the court read out the nine charges against him.
He has denied seven charges of rape, one of attempted rape and one of sexual assault.
Mendy’s co-accused, Louis Saha Matturie, 40, of Eccles, Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to 12 charges against eight women.
plead not guilty.
The trial will take place at Chester Crown Court in July, with a formal plea today at an administrative hearing before Judge Chester-Steven-Everett.
