January 13 Manchester United player Rashford won the club’s Player of the Month Award for December
Awards, the player accepted an interview with the club’s official website today and talked about his feelings.
How would you rate your performance last month?
It’s been great, you know, I’ve been scoring goals and we’ve been winning games in the end, so it’s been a pleasant moment.
At the same time, everyone has a different mentality after the World Cup, which is a bit difficult for the team, but it is very good to come back with good performance and results, as we are doing now.
you beat casemiro and luke shaw for the award
I think both of them are incredible.
They have also been instrumental at various stages in December since returning from the World Cup.
From my point of view, they are top players, they will perform at the top and if we want to win the trophies we want to win and achieve the goals we set ourselves, we need players like them.
There are many individual awards, but is this award more meaningful?
Because it was voted by Manchester United fans
Every award is a nice award, but, like I said, it’s definitely a good feeling to be recognized by the fans at the club.
So yes, I want to thank everyone who voted for me and I hope we can keep playing.
You are the fifth player to receive this award this season, do you think it reflects the overall state of the team?
Yes.
I think as a group we’ve improved as the season has gone on and from where we’re standing, I expect that to continue.
I think everyone put in an effort.
Everyone has done their part and we must continue to do so.
When other people behave badly, we have to push them and be friends with them.
If one of us wins, we all win.
That’s our mentality, and as I said, I’m looking forward to the future with this group of players.
Your status also extends to January
I just think as long as we keep creating good chances then we will score.
I think up front, there’s a lot of talent, a lot of scoring ability, so it’s not just me scoring goals.
I think, generally speaking, strikers score goals because there are very good passers in the team.
As long as we keep making good runs, there shouldn’t be a situation where we don’t score chances.
As a striker we are happy with the way we are playing but there is always room for improvement and you never get tired of scoring goals.
Many of us crave that.
With our ability to pass the ball forward in midfield and at the back, I believe we will continue to do so.
Against Charlton you have scored in eight consecutive games at Old Trafford, equaling Rooney’s record
That’s very important to me, and it’s incredible to be on par with him for one thing.
His time at Manchester United was fantastic, he was one of my heroes growing up and I always enjoyed watching him, not just because he was a top player but also because of his personality on the pitch.
He wants to leave everything on the field, and it’s the little things that make up the quality he’s displayed over the years.
Those were the things that drew me in as a kid watching him, so it’s always great to be around those types of players because it means you’re doing something right.
