The Belgium international is understood to have been absent from first-team training in recent days, partly because of a minor injury to his calf.
Sources have suggested that Trossard’s absence from training was a decision made by manager De Zerby amid concerns about the striker’s attitude.
Brighton declined to comment when contacted by The Mail on Thursday.
The Post also suggested that Trossard is increasingly likely to leave the club this month or the summer.
Trossard’s contract expires at the end of the season, with Brighton having the option to extend it by another year.
It is reported that Tottenham are very interested in him.
