The 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Bajcetic has renewed his contract.
According to news from Liverpool and team reporter James Pearce, the two sides signed a new contract for four and a half years.
Official statement from Liverpool:
Bajcetic has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool FC.
The 18-year-old committed his future to the club by signing his new contract at the team’s training center on Thursday afternoon.
Regarding the feelings of the contract extension, Bajcetic said: “Obviously, I am very happy, very happy to continue to play for this club and hope that I can play with the team for a longer period of time. My family and I are very happy.
Proud to sign a new contract with this club. It feels fantastic. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for the last two years and something I’ve been working towards.”
“It’s crazy. A year ago I was playing for the U18s and now I’m involved in some of the team’s games, made my debut and even scored a goal – something I’ve never done this year.
Something that was expected. It’s been amazing to see how quickly it has come. But I keep going and hopefully there’s more to come.”
Bajcetic joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo in December 2020, and then represented the U18 and U21 teams.
This season, Bajcetic made his first-team debut as a substitute in Liverpool’s 9-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Bajcetic, who scored his first goal against Villa in December, has made 10 appearances for the team so far.
