January 7 News Manchester United officially counted the top ten appearances in team history
Players, Giggs ranked first, De Gea ranked tenth.
The rankings are as follows:
10. De Gea (2011-present)
Appearances: 511
Clean sheets: 177
De Gea joined Manchester United in 2011 when Ferguson was in charge. He was introduced as Edwin van der Sar’s successor.
In more than ten years at Old Trafford, De Gea has proved himself with his performance.
So far, De Gea has helped Manchester United win the Premier League in 2013, the FA Cup in 2016 and the Europa League in 2017, and won the Manchester United Player of the Year award four times.
9. Dennis Irwin (1990-2002)
Appearances: 529
Goals: 33
Irwin won the Premier League seven times in his career and won the treble with Manchester United in 1999.
The Irish full-back can play in multiple positions on the pitch and has played a key role in Ferguson’s side.
8. Tony Dunne (1960-1973)

Number of goals: 2
Dunne played for United for 13 years and was the club’s will when they beat Benfica to the European title in 1968.
Dunn was famous in the 60’s and early 70’s.
7. Alex Stepney (1966-1978)

Stepney is the goalkeeper with the most appearances in the history of Manchester United. He was also a member of the team when he won the European championship trophy for the first time. In that final, Manchester United defeated Benfica 4-1.
