Martin Schmidt: “Obviously, you want to keep a player like this, the negotiations are already going on behind the scenes, we didn’t just start the renewal yesterday. He knows what he has at Mainz and both sides agree about it.
It’s calm and hopefully we can reach an agreement.”

The contract between Li Zaicheng and Mainz will expire in 2024. He has played 24 times in the Bundesliga this season, contributing 7 goals and 3 assists.
