Webb will return to the Premier League as Chief Refereeing Officer of Professional Match Officials Limited (PGMOL).
During Webb’s 11-year career as a referee in England’s top flight, he has officiated nearly 300 Premier League games, as well as World Cup, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup finals.
He retired in 2017 and joined the Professional Refereeing Organization in 2017 as Director of Video Assistant Referee Operations, and later as the General Manager of the Professional Refereeing Organization.
PGMOL managing director Mike Riley is stepping down this season after leading the organization for 13 years, with Webber set to take over the Premier League duties.
