Cleared of one charge of sexual assault.
However, the jury failed to reach a verdict on one count of rape and one count of attempted rape following a six-month trial at Chester Crown Court.
Judge Steven Everett called the jury dismissal after the jury failed to reach a majority verdict in the remaining cases.
Mendy’s co-defendant, Louis Saha Matturie, was acquitted by a jury on three counts of rape, while the jury failed to reach a verdict on three other counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
Both Mendy and Maturi have denied all allegations against them.
The pair have been on trial at Chester Crown Court since 10 August 2022.
The jury, made up of seven men and four women, first considered the verdict on Dec. 5, and Friday marked their 14th day of ruling the case.
The reaffirmation is scheduled for June 26, 2023.
