01, 06 According to previous reports, a woman was sexually assaulted in a nightclub in Barcelona.
She claimed that the attacker was Alves, and she has officially called the police.
Police confirmed they were investigating the incident, which took place at Sutton’s Nightclub, a bar frequented by the Spanish city’s rich and famous.
Spain’s ABC newspaper reported over the weekend that the unnamed woman had identified Brazil international Dani Alves who was suspected of molesting her to the police.
Barcelona-based news site El Taquigrafo also claimed they saw CCTV footage showing Alves entering the nightclub bathroom alone with the woman in the early hours of December 30 and leaving 47 seconds later.
The woman burst into tears as Alves and a male friend left the meeting 10 minutes later, a detailed description of the video she purportedly viewed said.
Two female friends who were with the victim at the time notified security personnel, who called police.
Alves, 39, said he was only briefly in the nightclub but insisted nothing happened.
A police spokesman said: "The victim has lodged a formal complaint following an indecent incident at a nightclub in Barcelona on the night of December 30-31. She lodged a complaint at the police station on Monday. A report will now be submitted to the investigative court by
